Our next National Gathering is at Margam Discovery Centre, Margam Park, Port Talbot SA13 2UA on the weekend of 28-30 September 2018.

Arrive from 4pm onwards on Friday. A buffet will be available from 6.30pm. Craig Bennett, Chief Executive of Friends of the Earth, will open the event around 7.30pm with his talk on ‘From local to Global.’ Afterwards, there is an opportunity to hear from those who have been nominated for the Mike Jacob Awards.

Saturday is a mix of workshops and presentations. Listen to inspiring speakers give ‘TED style’ talks, for instance, Joe O’Mahoney from Repair Café Wales.

There is a world café on Sunday morning followed by a beach clean and picnic at Kenfig Nature Reserve in the afternoon. Child friendly activities will be available in the morning, leaving you free to enjoy the world café. Children are welcome to the beach clean and picnic.

Entertainment includes optional yoga and pub quiz.

 

About the venue

Margam Discovery Centre is an award winning state of the art, low carbon footprint building situated within Margam Park, an 850 acre country estate. Glass walls and raised external walkways give visitors the feeling of being part of the surrounding natural environment. Find out more
